SN-05 from Capture One’s Seasonal Style pack

February 18, 2019 by Life after Photoshop

SN-05 is a pretty unromantic name for an image style, but it’s worked quite a transformation on this sunlit winter tree and sky. It’s one of 15 Styles in the Seasonal pack, which is sold via the Phase One website here: Seasonal Styles & Presets for Capture One – Preview Images & Buy

The price is £69 in UK currency but is converted to local currencies wherever you’re browsing. That might seem expensive for adjustments you could make yourself in Capture One’s colour editor, but you’re paying for the skill of the Style designer too.

This start shot didn’t really seem to have the makings of anything special.
But the SN-05 Seasonal Style has revealed a palette and a tonal contrast I would never have expected.

In this case, the SN-05 Style has deepened and intensified the tones of the winter sky in a way I wouldn’t have predicted, and that’s the value of presets (Styles, in Capture One) – they show you treatments for your images that you might not have thought of on your own.
