Sky Swap AI is just one of the new features in ON1 Photo RAW 2022.
ON1 NoNoise will be integrated into ON1 Photo RAW 2022.

New features in ON1 Photo RAW 2022

The new Sky Swap AI feature looks like a response to the hugely popular AI sky replacement ushered in by Skylum Luminar. Adobe has since responded with its own sky replacement feature in Photoshop, powered by Adobe’s own Sensei AI technology. Now ON1 Photo RAW 2022 joins in with its own sky replacement tool, and it could be a real boon to landscape photographers.

The Time-Lapse Creator will combine a sequence of still images into a time-lapse movie. These sequences are easy enough to create with most DSLRs and mirrorless cameras using a tripod and the camera’s built in intervalometer.

It will be interesting to see how ON1 integrates its new Plug-in Host. This will allow ON1 Photo RAW users to access Photoshop plug-ins directly. Most plug-ins are written solely for Photoshop and Lightroom, so this could really open things up for ON1 users who like the Nik Collection, say, or Exposure X effects.

The NoNoise integration is interesting too. Previously, this was sold only as a separate plug-ing (and still will be, I believe), but its integration into ON1 Photo RAW 2022 makes the new software look very good value.

ON1 Photo RAW’s large collection of presets and effects continue to offer creative ideas and in-depth control.
A new Time-Lapse Creator will let you create speeded-up movies from a series of still images.

ON1 Photo RAW 2022 pre-order bonuses

You may not normally pay much attention to bonus products, but these do deserve a mention. The Autumn Brush collection will probably appeal more to digital artists than photographers, but the Autumn Texture collection could provide some nice analog print ‘looks’. The Golden Hour LUT collection looks especially interesting (I love LUTs), while the Autumn Preset collection could be useful too. The Autumn Sky collection is obviously timed to fit with the new Sky Swap AI feature.
